Spiritual Spaces depend on each one of us. It’s vitally important to make your physical space reflect and inspire your spirit. ‘Vitally’ is the key word here, because if your space is toxic, your vitality will be low, to say the least. Here are some steps you can take in your home, in your office, and even in your car that can help you build an environment rich in joy and the presence of your radiant self.
1. Remove clutter.
2. Let there be light!
3. Beauty, comfort, and stimulation.
4. Breathe deeply.
5. Music, music, music!
THOUGHTS ON NEWTOWN TRAGEDY
I feel that before birth, everyone creates a contract with the soul that declares an intention of healing, growth, and--most of all--a personal discovery of one's eternal, loving spirit. Some people have very dark, and disturbed histories and patterns. And growth for those people depends upon their ability to overcome and move beyond their dark patterns of lack and ego. When they're born into a new life, they often fall into the old patterns, forgetting their spirit's intentions and breaking their contracts.
I feel that evil is emblematic of the very grave mistake of separation and lack. This mistaken belief thrives in a state of victimization and can only be overcome by redefining and re-experiencing the self in one's divine, all-powerful truth. We must pray for those poor families in Newtown. But we must also pray each day for light to come to every dark and twisted mind that is bent on its own victimization. These are not "lost souls;" these are broken people who have lost connection to their souls.
The level of evil in any event is a measure of how distant that person feels to his own soul. When you pray for peace, pray for those who have fallen so deep in their victimization that all they want to do is attack. Maybe, if we all include those broken people in our daily prayers, there might be one less Columbine or Newtown in our future. (Also, please pray for light to come to those others who promote vulnerability and fear: the NRA and the gun supporters.)
"Trapped" Spirits...Could you be one?
As a medium a lot of people ask me about "trapped" spirits, and my answer is always the same. Spirits–and all beings–get trapped only by their own thoughts and feelings. Being trapped is exclusively a state of mind, and one's limitations are set only by the beliefs that the individual holds. As a matter of fact, those of us in the physical world are much more likely to be trapped than our spirit world counterparts. Here we have the physical world limitations of space and time–not to mention our over-active and constantly measuring egos! In the spirit world there are no limitations from time or space. But there is a fuller and complete comprehension of one's divine, all-powerful, joyful soul. That is why so many near death experiences do not want to come back–because they feel a love, a confidence, and a power they had never known before.
Happily, we don't have to die to know the love, compassion and power of the divine spirit within. We just have to get untrapped–untrapped from the old beliefs, the darker moments, and the limits of the lesser self. So begin to choose freedom from these when they come up for you. Begin to choose a new mind. And "who ya' gonna call" for that new mind? Why, your own untrapped, divine spirit - that's who!
Here's an affirmation that was shared with me by Dr. Brett Stohrer. I think that it can help all of us realign ourselves with that radiant being within.
"I lovingly take back my power, and I release all interference."
When you say this, take a deep breath and feel the compassion and enormous force of your eternal spirit stir within you. Allow yourself to know that spirit and rest in it completely.
